Teej Celebration 2013

Nepalese Association of Connecticut (NAConn) has successfully organized the celebration of the great Nepali women’s festival “Teej 2013” in a very entertaining and joyful environment on Saturday, September 7^th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Every effort was put forth by all the women participants to make this evening a very memorable one.Coordinator of “Teej Committee2013”  Jamuna Paneru delivered the welcome speech and extended  her best wishes to all the participants, all the people living in different parts of  the world and back at home in Nepal.  She expressed her sincere thanks to Arjun Dahal and Srijana Bajgain for facilitating the admission ticket sales, Ashish Humagai for DJ, Taste of India, Windsor for catering the food. She also expressed her gratitude to all the members of Teej Committee, Executive Committee and all the volunteers for their appropriate contribution to make this event successful.

On this occasion and as a respect to all our mothers, mothers were invited to take a seat in the stage.  Vegetarian food was also available.  The food was prepared by Champa Rai, Rupa Devkota, Rekha Gautam and Jamuna Paneru.

President of NAConn Ghanashyam Khadka in his speech thanked everyone for coming together to celebrate this great festival and all the individuals for their respective help and support. He mentioned that the association is able to successfully organize this great event continuously for the last 6-7 years and assured its continuity in the future as well. In his speech he emphasized the historical and ancient importance of this great festival and that this festival is able to unite together all the Nepalese people living in a foreign land. He further added that this festival successfully delivers the message of friendship and love among all of us.

Rekha Gautam was the Master of Ceremony for this program and she carried the evening in a full swing with her remarkable voice.

The second phase of the event was full of dancing activities. Women were seeing dancing to their fullest Teej mood in different styles. Their joy of being in this event and getting involved was felt throughout the dance hall. They were seen relaxed and enjoying every moment of their time. They danced, danced and danced throughout the evening on the great traditional musical note of Teej songs. It was truly a Teej evening.

In the final phase of this program there was a raffle drawing for 8 prizes.  Elderly mother in our community Mrs. Sabitra Adhikari drew the winners of the raffle ticket from the raffle box. The winners were announced from the stage and winners were called as the winning tickets were chosen one by one.  Anuja Dulal received the first prize, Subhadra Tiwari second, Nirmala Tiwari third and Nirmala Shrestha received the fourth prize. Four Consolation prizes were also given. The winners were Puja Moktan, Mamta Malla, Sita Bajgain and Srijana Koirala. Coordinator Mrs. Paneru congratulated the winners and mentioned that this was the first time that the Teej Committee had organized a raffle drawing. She thanked Ghanashyam Khadka, Santosh Lamsal, Rishikesh Bhattarai, Prahlad Paneru, Arjun Devkota, Kedar Khatiwada, Muna Tiwari and Pramila Mallik for their contribution in buying these prizes.

The event which was attended by 200 plus attendees, mostly women with few men and children was organized at Beth Israel Church of West Hartford.

कनेक्टिकटमा तीजको  उमंग 

नेप्लिज एसोसिएसन अफ कनेक्टिकटको तत्वावधानमा नेपाली नारीहरुको महत्वपूर्ण चाड तीज २०१३ भव्यतापूर्ण वातावरणमा सम्पन्न भएको छ I  कार्यक्रमलाई तीजमय बनाउन उपस्थित महिला दिदी बहिनीहरुले कुनै कसर बाँकी राख्नु भएको थिएन I

यस उल्लासमाय वतावारणलाई रोचक बनाउंदै नेकोन तीज कमिटीकी संयोजक जमुना पनेरुले नेकोनको तर्फबाट सबैलाई तीजको मंगलमय शुभकामना व्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो I उक्त अवसरमा आमाहरुलाई सम्मान स्वरूप मन्चमा आसन ग्रहण गराइएको थियो I शाकाहारीहरुको लागि शाकाहारी भोजनको व्यवस्था पनि गरिएको थियो I शाकाहारी भोजन तयार गर्न  चम्पा राई, रूपा देवकोटा, रेखा गौतम तथा जमुना पनेरुले सहयोग गर्नु भएको थियो I संयोजक जमुना पनेरुले   टिकट बिक्री कार्यमा अर्जुन दाहाल तथा सिर्जना बजगाईं, डिजे आशिष हुमागाईं तथा खानाको लागि टेस्ट अफ इंडिया विन्ड्सरलाई धन्यवाद दिनु भएको थियो I त्यस्तै  तीज कार्यक्रमलाई सफल बनाउन सहयोग गर्नुहुने कार्यकारी समितिका पदाधिकारी तथा तीज कमिटिका सम्पूर्ण साथीहरुलाई  आभार प्रकट गर्नुभएको थियो I

उक्त अवसरमा संस्थाका अध्यक्ष घनश्याम खड्काले कनेक्टिकट नेपाली समाजले गत ६-७ वर्ष देखि निरन्तर रूपमा तीज मनाउंदै आएको र भविष्यमा पनि यसले निरन्तरता पाइरहने कुरा व्यक्त गर्नु भयो  I  उहाँले तीजको ऐतिहासिक महत्वको चर्चा गर्दै तीज पर्वले नेपालीहरुलाई विदेशको भूमिमा पनि एक सूत्रमा बाँध्न सफल भएको कुरा स्पष्ट पार्नु  भयो | साथै उहाँले तीज उत्सव एक आपसमा मित्रता र प्रेमको संदेश दिन पनि सफल भएको कुरा व्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो I

उक्त कार्यक्रम  रेखा गौतमले संचालन गर्नुभएको थियो I

दोश्रो चरणमा भव्य नाच गानको कार्यक्रम भएको थियो I  शनिवार साँझ ४ बजे आरम्भ भएको तीज कार्यक्रम मध्यरातसम्म चलेको थियो I वर्षभरिको कामको बोझलाई एकैछिन बिर्सेर दिदीबहिनीहरु यस उत्सवको रमाइलोमा झुम्न, रम्न र हराउन खोजेको कुरा टड्कारो रूपमा देख्न सकिन्थ्यो I

कार्यक्रमको अन्त्यमा मंचबाट भाग्यशाली चिट्ठाको नतिजा घोषणा गर्दै विजेताहरुलाई पुरस्कार वितरण गरी   समारोह समापन गरिएको थियो I उक्त अवसरमा बाकसबाट भाग्यशाली नतिजा निकाल्ने काम यस समाजकी अग्रज श्रीमती सावित्रा अधिकारीको हातबाट सम्पन्न भएको थियो I  पुरस्कार विजेताहरुमा सुश्री अनुजा दुलाल पहिलो, सुभद्रा तिवारी दोश्रो, निर्मला अधिकारी तेश्रो र  निर्मला श्रेष्ठ चौथो हुनु भएको थियो I त्यस्तै सान्त्वना पुरस्कार विजेताहरुमा क्रमश: पूजा मोक्तान, ममता मल्ल, सीता बजगाईं तथा सृजना कोइराला हुनुहुन्थ्यो I यस वर्ष तीज कमिटीले ८ ओटा भाग्यशाली चिट्ठाको आयोजना गरेको कुरा व्यक्त गर्दै उपहार खरिद गर्न सहयोग गर्नुहुने घनश्याम खड्का, सन्तोष लम्साल, ऋषि भट्टराई, प्रल्हाद पनेरु, अर्जुन देवकोटा, केदार खतिवडा, मुना तिवारी र प्रमिला मल्लिकलाई श्रीमती पनेरुले हार्दिक धन्यवाद    दिनुभएको थियो I

२५० भन्दा बढी महिला, पुरुष तथा बालबालिकाहरुको उपस्थिति रहेको उक्त भव्य कार्यक्रमको आयोजना बेथ इजरेल वेस्ट हार्टफोर्डमा भएको थियो I
