NAConn Summer BBQ Picnic-2013

Nepalese Association of Connecticut (NAConn) successfully organized its first Summer BBQ Picnic on August 18, 2013 in a beautiful place at Rocky Neck State Park. About 250 people from different towns of Connecticut attended this program. The event provided an excellent opportunity for all NAConn members, friends and well-wishers to meet, greet, socialize and relax with music, games, and delicious foods.

The event started at 11am as planned.  All the NAConn executive members engaged in preparing for the event. All the volunteers and participants gave their helping hands to make the event run smoothly as well. After light snacks, the volleyball tournament commenced, which was the main attraction of the program. Four teams namely Kane Street Team, Hillcrest Team, Connecticut Youth Team, and CT Youth Guard competed in the tournament with the Kane Street Team caming out victorious.

The event also featured many fun activities. Participants of all ages took part in the fun games including “Pot Breaking” (Haandi Phutaaune), Marble-in-the-Spoon race, Sack Race, Kabaddi, Hot Potato and Tug-of-War. Two young volunteers Misses Akriti Bhattarai and Zenith Rai provided face painting, which attracted many young children. Many thanks to Akriti and Zenith for their contributions and we hope to use your talents in upcoming events.
