PARK ROAD PARADE-2013

Nepalese Association of Connecticut (NAConn) participated in The Park Road Parade 2013. Approximately one hundred NAConn members including children enthusiastically participated. It was great to see the members in Cultural dress and traditional musics. NAConn featured “Kumari, Gunyo choli, Madal, Murchunga, Bansuri, Jhyamta, Daura-suruwal, Nepali and American Flag, Various cultural dress- Rai, Tamang, Sherpa , etc.” the unity in diversity.

The program was held on the 5th of October at 10:30 am, the first Saturday of October. It was a wonderful celebration of West Hartford which featured clowns, stilt walker, bands, floats, dancers, antique cars, dogs of all sizes, mascots, characters, businesses, civic and cultural organizations local celebrities and town officials. More than 100 groups and thousands more onlookers braved the elements to be a part of the 13th annual parade, which originally started as an effort to draw people to Park Road after a lengthy construction project. Coordinator Narayan Paudel thanked all the NAConn members for their active participation.
